Great work Lee. You sure can crank these out. It's awesome production really. I'm still editing and rewriting my first novel. If it works, it will sell. I hope.
I've always avoided pay to play types of events, especially in this business. I saw quite a bit of it when I was acting, and never bit except for free events soliciting later payment for whatever it was they were selling, faux access usually.

David Morrell and Lisa Jackson are both big bestsellers. I've heard of a few of the others, too. Seems like a decent list.
Writers conferences can be useful when you're starting out, mostly for making contacts, I think.

Thanks, David. I'm not going since I don't pay 400 bucks to meet writers, and small agents, but I know someone who is. That and I don't don't aspire to having a San Diego agent. So I was wondering mostly about the paying part. Isn't this a sort of vanity operation?

Sandra Dijkstra is a San Diego agent and she reps some top people, including Amy Tan.
(Note: she's not on the list of people who will be there. But there are some good agents outside of NYC.)

Yes David I'm aware of Sandra. I wouldn't pay for access at these pitchfests myself, but others think that's the way to go. For some it may well be.
